Scientific discovery has a vital role to play in our lives and our future, and Springer Nature, a leading global research publisher, is at the forefront of communicating some of the most important and interesting research to a wide global audience. At the heart of this work is our fast-paced external communications department, and we’re now looking for a Communications Officer to support these efforts. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in promoting research and other content published in leading journals across the Nature Portfolio, BMC, and Springer journals. The work we publish generates widespread, high-quality media coverage worldwide every week, in print, broadcast, and online channels.
The role involves promoting research to the media, creating videos for social media, and undertaking general administrative tasks in order for this busy team to maintain its high standards. In addition to working with research authors, institutional communications departments, and journalists internationally, this position will see you work closely with key figures in the editorial, publishing, and Corporate Affairs teams of Springer Nature, and the chance to work with global colleagues.
The successful applicant will have a relevant degree, experience of working in science and/or research communications, an understanding of the media landscape, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience of issues management would be a notable asset.
