About the roleDrax Power Station has been part of the local Yorkshire landscape
since the 1970s and has been a key player in the UK energy industry since its
inception. We have an incredible site and continue to chart an exciting course
and we want you to help tell our story!
In this exciting new
role as a Community & Education Team Leader at Drax, you’ll be leading our
team of Officers to deliver first-class Community Engagement,
Educational Outreach and tours of our incredible Power Station here in
Selby.
Day to day
you’ll supervise the activities of the community and education team at Drax
Power Station across our 2 visitor centres. This will see you maintaining
accurate records of staffing hours, holidays and visitor numbers whilst
ensuring GDPR responsibilities are always met. You’ll also manage all aspects
of the daily operations of the team covering all tours, visitor centres,
vehicles, staffing and communication.

will ever be the same in your role here at Drax!
As the
Team Leader you will be responsible for the delivery of all VIP tours and will
the main point of contract with our senior business and community
stakeholders. Working alongside the
Community and Education Manager you will develop the diversity of audiences
visiting the site, targeting people from agreed sectors within the local
community plan.
About youWe are looking for a
confident presenter who can bring the Drax story to life, coupled with an
interest or understanding in anything to do with energy, the environment,
sustainability, engineering, science and education. In addition to being a
confident presenter, you’ll need to have great communication skills and have
demonstrable experience leading and developing a team.
You’ll be
confident working in a fast-paced, agile environment. Having a Health &
Safety qualification would be great in this role, though we’re more interested
in candidates that have experience working within a Heavy Industry environment
working within a highly regulated environment. Safety of our visitors and staff
is of paramount important to us here at Drax
We are looking for someone join us on a full time basis and you
will need to successfully pass a DBS check if you are successful in joining the
team.
You will need to have a D1 Category Minibus license or be willing
to undertake the necessary training to obtain the obtain the correct category as
you will be driving our minibus on tours of our Selby site.
