Location: Cardiff (office based)


Salary: On application dependant on experience


Working hours: 37.5 hours per week 8am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday


Contract: Full-time


Position Overview: 

We are currently seeking a talented CAD Designer to join our team. This role will be integral in the creation of detailed models and drawings that facilitate the construction process for our diverse range of projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed 3D/2D construction drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software necessary to facilitate the construction process.
  • Ensure correct materials and manufacturing processes are considered throughout the design stages.
  • Prepare 2D drawings for CNC / Laser cutting.
  • Prepare 3D models for 3D printing / milling.
  • Ensure design is viable for installation and shipping.
  • Ensure that all drawings are accurate, clear, and adhere to company standards and regulations.
  • Review and revise drawings based on feedback, technical requirements, and project timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications throughout the design process.
  • Assist in the documentation and organisation of project files, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Work closely with the Design Supervisor to ensure that designs can be feasibly executed within budget and time constraints.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure that project goals are met and attend meetings where required to provide input on project design.


The successful candidate will have:

  • Degree or qualifications in drafting, architecture, engineering, or related field is preferable.
  • Understanding of manufacturing materials and processes. 
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD etc.) and other relevant design tools.
  • Strong understanding of architectural and technical drawing standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience in a design manufacturing or related industry is preferred but not required.
