Construction Quality Control Engineer

Month Contract

£375 - £400 Per Day

Description and Requirements

We're seeking a Quality Engineer for a month contract, responsible for managing independent site inspections and surveillances, liaising with the Client on inspection issues, ensuring documentation is produced on time, raising non-conformances in a timely manner, reviewing documentation, and supporting the Quality Manager. This role provides assurance to both the SCSJV Management and the Client that the Delivery Team and the supply chain are delivering the Works in accordance with the Works Information and the design requirements.

You'll be Responsible for:

  • Being proactive in preventing substandard works by coaching and providing training.
  • Ensuring that quality management is prioritized in the delivery of the works to achieve right first time.
  • Communicating with the Delivery Team and supply chain to ensure full understanding of quality assurance requirements.
  • Checking the works during progress and on completion to ensure compliance with the Works Information.
  • Being an active user of the electronic quality record system to manage QA records.
  • Managing and communicating any non-conformances and defects to the Quality Managers.
  • Carrying out formal surveillances to ensure inspections and tests are conducted as per the Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Providing support and holiday cover to the Quality Manager.
  • Carrying out duties in accordance with the SCSJV Core Values and understanding the Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Professional qualification - Degree or equivalent in civil engineering or an appropriate professional qualification.
  • Membership of IRCA or CQI is an advantage.
  • Internal and External Audit training is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.
  • Experience in a quality-related role on a major infrastructure project.
  • Relevant CSCS Card.
  • On-site training in Quality is an advantage.
