Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist NHS Lanarkshire - Neurodevelopmental ServiceWe are looking to recruit a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to the Neurodevelopmental Service for Children and Young People in NHS Lanarkshire. This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative and collaborative multi-disciplinary service which has been ahead of the curve in its’ creation. The post sits in an extensive multi-disciplinary team with medical staff from both Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Paediatrics working alongside a team with Psychology, Nursing, Pharmacy and Allied Health Professionals. The post holder will also join a team of Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists who are based in the Neurodevelopmental Service and CAMHS Service. The Neurodevelopmental Service for Children and Young People is a community based service which provides Neurodevelopmental assessment for children and young people who have been referred to the service from across NHS Lanarkshire. Where appropriate, it also offers interventions and treatment including a range of groups for parents and pharmacological ADHD treatment. There are pathways to access CAMHS for young people who develop moderate to severe co-morbid mental illness. The job is offered as a part-time post on a 5 PA basis (including 1 non-DCC). It is based at the CAMHS and Neurodevelopmental Service clinic at Udston Hospital. The clinic was planned and designed in conjunction with children and young people and opened in 2022.The University of Glasgow enjoys close links with NHS Lanarkshire, and our medical students benefit greatly from the excellent educational opportunities provided by the board in both primary and secondary care.
