Consultant/Locum Litigation Lawyer Ref: 10619 Exeter, Torquay or Plymouth £ competitive day rate, flexible hours with hybrid working 3-6 months duration About the role Our client is seeking an experienced Consultant or Locum Litigation Lawyer to provide immediate support to the team during a very busy period, with client demand increasing whilst the team are seeking to recruit on a permanent basis. The team are in the process of transitioning from a general litigation practice to specialist teams and as such, the existing caseload is a blend of contentious matters ranging from contract disputes to probate, property and a small proportion of professional negligence claims work. You will be expected to manage your files with relative independence from the outset and work with the Partner on complex or sensitive matters. Collaboration with other teams in order to provide seamless and exemplary client service is key, with a focus on positive relationships with the Corporate & Commercial and Insolvency teams. You may have the opportunity to support the development of an Associate who will be specialising in Inheritance Disputes work, requiring close cooperation with the well-established Private Client team. As a Consultant/Locum Lawyer, you will have the option to work from offices in Exeter, Torquay or Plymouth with hybrid working. The requirement is likely to be for a duration of 3-6 months but to an extent, this will depend on how things progress once underway. About you As an adaptable and experienced Commercial Litigation Lawyer who is seeking flexible consultancy, contract or locum work, you will have several years’ UK based post qualified experience, with the ability to independently manage a varied litigation caseload at the outset. You are technically skilled and feel confident handling complex matters, listening to your clients and providing clear, commercially appropriate and relevant advice every time. You’ll be flexible and may prefer to work set days each week, or plan from week to week depending on workflow. You will possess proven rapport building skills and you are tenacious, thorough, and attentive to detail, taking pride in the high standards of your work.
