Job Description

We are looking for a Content Manager with a creative yet methodical approach. You will work with our well-established Digital Marketing team to manage content projects and client relationships across multiple retainers.

Based in the heart of Manchester, CTI is now one of the largest digital transformation agencies outside of London with 220 Digital professionals working for us. Our journey is unique and we need dedicated and talented people to join us to help our continued growth and development. Not only will you have exposure to some exciting technologies but you’ll also get to know our various teams and departments.

What will my day look like?

As content forms an important part of all projects - from Digital Transformations and website migrations to ongoing Marketing retainers - you’ll have the opportunity to work on some really major projects for a diverse range of clients.

You’ll be the gatekeeper for content outputs on your projects, reviewing work from within the team, offering constructive feedback, and chasing up amends to meet clients' expected deadlines. But you’ll also have a chance to get involved with the actual delivery too. As the person who knows your clients best, you’ll likely be best placed to complete some of the tasks that you define.

You’ll work with multiple people across different disciplines and on the client side too, never in an echo chamber. We’re a supportive and lively bunch with great team camaraderie! Above all, we welcome new ideas, fresh eyes and creative insights into our team.

Our Content Manager will tailor their approach to the needs of each client, managing a team of execs to produce content, share insights, and develop creative ideas to meet our clients’ goals.

  • Define long-term plans and goals for clients and the practical approach for achieving these ends.

  • Translate budgets and resource estimates into tangible content tasks, in a prioritised order, with relevant time estimates.

  • Speak to clients regularly, presenting reports & outputs, answering their questions, fielding requests, and acting as a primary port of call for content.

  • Take the lead on gathering briefs from clients, making sure that we understand their needs and expectations before we embark on any piece of work.

  • Keep a close eye on performance metrics for our clients and their content, compiling a report each month that pairs data with clear explanations of the results, the impact and our responses.

  • Lead training sessions and workshops with clients and their stakeholders, defining the ideal activities and questions that’ll help you to gather valuable information.

  • Work with the wider Marketing and Digital Strategy teams to identify opportunities, share knowledge, and collaborate on projects to produce the best results.

  • Help to define processes for content creation, maintenance, and management, as our team grows.

Key skills & Qualities

  • Excellent grammatical accuracy and knowledge of SEO best practices - as you will be proofreading, reviewing and signing off work.

  • Well-organised - to manage a growing number of projects, we must keep track of our outputs, budgets, and resources, agreeing on clear processes as we go.

  • Experience in a Marketing role - a Content Manager needs to know about content best practices and how content fits with other Marketing channels to define how we spend our retainer time.

  • Ability to provide constructive feedback to junior members of the team, ensuring that you support growth and development at all levels.

  • Confident in client-facing situations - you’ll need to translate our work to clients of different experience levels, whilst managing expectations, building rapport, and bringing a solutions-based attitude to any challenges.

  • Experience working in an agency setting, or juggling multiple concurrent projects for different clients, would be beneficial.

Location: Our head office is in Manchester city centre (Ancoats) - we adopt a hybrid working model (2 days in the office per week).

Salary: Dependent on Experience.
