Our client is a multi-disciplinary consultancy who is looking to expand their Nottingham team. This is a great opportunity for a Civil Engineer who has a minimum of 4 years experience to go contract. These roles aren't common and will get snatched up! This consultancy are offering hybrid working to the successful candidate, alongside other benefits such as IR35.

The role:

  1. Working within a team to produce designs and drawings for construction projects
  2. Deliver technical reports for master planning and to support planning applications
  3. Produce masterplans, site appraisals, write reports to support planning applications, design calculations, and construction drawings
  4. Ability to deliver highway design, highway drainage principles (layout, parameters, etc.), surface water and foul drainage designs
  5. Experience in the use of Windes drainage software and PDS or Civils 3D modelling
  6. Sound knowledge of the relevant design codes such as DMRB, Local Authority Highway and Water Authority Design Guides
  7. Preparation of drawings for S38 and S278 Highway Agreements as well as S106 Drainage Agreements
  8. Contribute to the delivery of concept studies and strategies with hands-on design, leading to planning applications or construction drawing issue

What you need to succeed:

  • Relevant degree (ideally an accredited Masters Degree with ICE in Civil or equivalent Level 6 qualification)
  • Ideally Chartered or Incorporated with relevant professional body or working towards Chartership
  • A minimum of 4 years post-graduate experience
  • Competent in relevant drawing, modeling, and experienced in the application of relevant design software
  • Strong technical knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
  • Good commercial awareness and project management skills and experience
  • Manage continuous professional development and stay updated on legislation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with excellent written and verbal communication skills
