Job Description

The Corporate Finance team is made up of a dynamic and supportive group of individuals who are driven by building relationships with clients, not purely transactions. The team focus on creating trusted and enjoyable working relationships with both clients and contacts and comprise three sub-teams of M&A, Transaction Services, and Valuations. Our Corporate Finance has now grown to be a team of 18, making it one of the fastest growing teams in Buzzacott.

The M&A team works across a range of high-growth sectors. From cash outs for entrepreneurs of high growth businesses to the advising on the acquisition strategies of large corporates, our deals with both entrepreneurs and institutions are exciting and varied. This position is ideally suited for someone with some M&A experience who wants to accelerate their career by developing themselves whilst assisting with growing the team.

We are looking for a Corporate Finance (M&A) Exec to join our established team who will be responsible for supporting Managers and Directors in the delivery of M&A transactions and advisory work.You will be a part of a lead advisory orientated team with a focus on transactions in the £10m to £100m space. The team are all encouraged to leverage off each other’s specialisms and learn and grow together.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Partner, Directors and Senior Managers of the team with the delivery of a range of transactions, from fundraisings and trade sales to private equity deals.
  • Briefing, supervising and reviewing the work of junior members of the team where appropriate, providing constructive feedback and support as necessary.
  • Taking ownership of assigned tasks and completing in accordance with the firm’s and the profession’s professional and ethical standards and ensure effective completion before Manager or Partner review.
  • Developing trust and good relationships with clients by being proactive in communication and understanding clients’ needs, as well as discussing key concerns and issues.
  • Assisting with pitching and the preparation of proposals.
  • Researching, identifying and screening potential acquirers/investors.
  • Coordinating and overseeing data rooms and requests in transactional due diligence operations.

Skills and Experience:

  • Degree educated (or equivalent)
  • ACA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Corporate Finance experience in an Accounting Firm or Corporate Finance Boutique
  • Experience working with Excel models and in creating information memorandums
  • Ability to contribute to client meetings and network with intermediaries
  • Ability to work across multiple projects/leads and occasionally handle pressurised situations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commercial, results orientated mind-set; have an ability to recognise cross-selling opportunities and develop sound professional relationships
  • Able to work proactively and on own initiative but also together as part of a team
