JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of our Digital Workplace service. The role will involve providing day to day support to employees with IT issues, responsible for the technical management of our Microsoft Azure tenancy, and act as the engagement lead with third parties for technical and security related matters.

The role requires both a strategic and hands-on approach, with the need to develop long term technical plans, driving continuous improvement and maximising the benefit of our Microsoft technology, whilst providing excellent support to our end users.

You will be customer focused, ensuring end users are at the heart of our thinking across all key services, delivering excellent end user experiences. You will be the go to person for providing IT technical support across our business, and work with our colleagues in VMO2 and Liberty Global for cross organisational technology needs.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Role make-up:

20% Providing general support to teams.

50% Management of Corporate IT (Infrastructure, Cloud computing and end user computing), driving continuous improvements, ensuring we are up to date with critical security patches and support of future IT needs.

30% Technical leadership with 3rd parties and project support.


Desktop Support:

• Provide desktop support for end-users, resolving hardware and software issues.

• Configure and troubleshoot desktops, laptops & mobile devices.


Microsoft 365 Cloud administration:

To manage and support of our M365 tenancy, you will need to have detailed technical understanding of:

• Microsoft 365 tenancy administration.

• Entra ID management.

• Intune device management & autopilot build administration.

• Apple Business Manager integration.

• Azure technical administration

• Exchange email services management.

• Teams administration.

• Microsoft Azure Cloud Compute services.

• Cross-cloud identity management and federation capabilities.

• Defender security capabilities.


Manage and monitor Azure cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance and security.

You will be responsible for ensuring cloud compute services are optimised to provide appropriate performance & service availability against budget.

Work with 3rd parties to respond to cyber related threats or incidents.


Infrastructure & Security Management

Manage and support our corporate IT infrastructure:

• Management of all IT hardware across our employees – delivering a great end user computing experience.

• Management of our internal Corporate IT infrastructure – network firewalls, switches and Wi-Fi.

• Endpoint security management, development and application of access policies and controls.

• Work with our security partners to ensure we are protected and equipped to respond to an event.

• Monitoring key events across our systems and infrastructure: ensure cyber threats are mitigated; incidents are managed to closure., Reporting on product usage across the estate, ensuring capacity is managed appropriately and Management of building Access Control systems.


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• You will bring insight into the organisation relating to current industry and technology trends and innovation, helping to shape future IT technology roadmaps.


DESIRABLE SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Proven experience in Microsoft 365 technical administration related role.

• Certifications in Microsoft 365 administration (across any number of core components outlined) are highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of Azure services: cloud computing, networking and security.

• Understanding and / or experience working with other cloud-based services – e.g. Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• Corporate IT physical infrastructure knowledge.

• Knowledge and experience of working with building Access Control systems is highly desirable.

• Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Customer focused mindset, with an ability to think systematically across technology domains that deliver ensure services and experiences.

• Strong commercial and technical partner management experience.

• Ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders across different organisations to act as the liaison between the business, other technical communities and the 3rd party delivery teams to ensure the delivery of the business requirements.

• Ability to partner with technical and business teams to identify solutions and quick resolutions to problems, enabling business outcomes to be achieved.

• Strong relationship building, collaboration and influencing skills.
