Walker Lovell is seeking a talented and dynamic Corporate Associate to join our client's award-winning and market-leading Corporate team in Birmingham. This is a full-time position offering a hybrid working model.

As a Corporate Associate, you will report to the Partners and collaborate with the esteemed Corporate Team on a wide range of corporate matters and transactions. You will engage with diverse clients, including start-ups, high-growth companies, and large corporations, handling complex and high-value corporate transactions such as corporate finance, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, disposals, partnering arrangements, management buy-outs, buy-ins, business transfers, and PE & VC investments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive market share and brand presence within the Corporate team.
  • Manage a varied caseload of corporate matters.
  • Provide commercially astute, pragmatic, and legally sound advice.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and firm legislation.
  • Act as a role model and champion the firm's values.
  • Contribute to strategic and business planning.
  • Stay updated with key legal and business news.
  • Build and maintain first-class and trusted client relationships.
  • Collaborate effectively within the Corporate team and the wider business.

Essential Skills

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
  • Minimum 2 years PQE within a Corporate team at a City or national firm.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commercially astute with strong judgment skills.
  • Proficient in running due diligence and disclosure processes.
  • Keen interest in business development initiatives.
  • Proactive ‘can do’ attitude and flexibility under pressure.
