Job Description

NES Fircroft is recruiting a Cost Controller on behalf of our client, a leader in engineering services, to be based at Sellafield Nuclear site. This is available as a permanent, staff opportunity with excellent salary and benefits package.

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Provide the project with complete and accurate cost control services and, in association with the Project Manager/Project Control Manager, prepare a cost control strategy.
  • In association with the Project Planner, Project Manager and the Project Control Manager develop a robust Cost Breakdown Structure to facilitate an Earned Value Analysis approach.
  • Proactively forecast, trend and analyse software, hardware and construction cost using EVA techniques and all other available data
  • Identify cost variances as early as possible and report issues to the Project Manager/Project Control Manager and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Recognise the impact risks & opportunities will have on the Estimate At Completion.
  • Maintain communications and dialogue with other Project Control personnel (planners, document controllers, estimators) to help ensure excellence in delivery of Project Control function.
  • Issue project cost reports in accordance with the requirements of the Principal Cost Controller / Project Manager,/ Project Control Manager, Project Execution Plan and the Business Operating Procedures (Including Project Finical Statement, Procurement Cost Report, and cost flows)
  • As required by the Project Manager/Project Control Manager, attend internal and external project progress reviews.
  • Implement and administer a Change Control program.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • ONC/HNC/HND in related engineering or accounting discipline
  • Appropriate experience in an engineering and/or construction company environment dealing with EPC type projects involving the financial, cost and contract control of engineering design, procurement of materials, equipment and services, manufacture, delivery and site implementation and construction.
