£30.00p/h - £42.22p/h
We are recruiting for a Cost Engineering Technical Management and Reporting Engineer for one of our automotive clients based in Cranfield.
You will be working for a globally recognised automotive company.
This is a long-term contract role. The contract is on an ongoing basis a may run for several years.
Key Responsibilities of the Cost Engineering Technical Management and Reporting Engineer:
• Achievement of annual Infotainment cost reduction targets
• Generating new streams of ideas through proactive engagement with the teams
• For the Infotainment team
• Responsible for leading the cost reduction strategy for the department
• Post-SOP cost reduction strategy and management (reporting progress/status to various audiences, generating ideas)
• Lead cross functional cost reduction activity (line walks, weekly cost wrap up, supplier events etc)
• Be the key Infotainment representative with purchasing team and infotainment suppliers
• Regular reporting of cost status and achievement to department management against roadmap/plans
• Liaise with infotainment teams globally to share and collaborate on ideas
• Collating documentation/presentations to progress cost reduction proposals
• Managing competitor benchmarking and part tear down
Qualifications & Experience for the Cost Engineering Technical Management and Reporting Engineer:
• Engineering Degree qualified
• 3+ years experience of electrical commodity cost management within an OEM/electronics company
• Established experience of electrical component manufacturing processes
• Ability to demonstrate cost achievements in previous career roles.
• Familiarity operating in complex, international, multi-cultural organisations
• Experience in cost management and cost tracking
• Demonstrable knowledge of technical cost factors in design, tooling and product delivered cost.
• An excellent ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
• Advanced MS Office skills such as ability to use pivot tables, lookup functions and develop complex work tables to automate data generation and reporting
• Experience in using data management systems
• Comfort in handling and manipulating large datasets
• Capability to negotiate effectively with colleagues to achieve desired outcomes
Hours & Pay for the Cost Engineering Technical Management and Reporting Engineer:
• Monday to Friday
• 39 hours per week
• £30.00p/h - £42.22p/h
