What’s the role?


We are seeking a dedicated and hard-working individual with a multi-disciplinary skill set for a dynamic role that involves a variety of creative and design projects. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and capable of working independently and as part of a team. A strong background in print is essential, including knowledge of setting up artwork for printing. This position will encompass a broad range of tasks, including image retouching, packaging, label design, and graphic design. Responsibilities:


  • Sketch out packaging design ideas to a very high-quality standard and follow these through to digital versions.
  • Designing labels for products as part of our range, working on Limited Edition releases. 
  • Produce deadline key product packaging, marketing literature, corporate brochures, and posters as required.
  • Creating brand materials for all Imperial Candles digital marketing channels: email marketing campaigns, social media channels, and paid advertising.
  • Re-touching and editing photos daily as part of our social media content. 
  • Research and generally understand current trends in product packaging, marketing materials and design.
  • Interact with the marketing team and directors to create product packaging design concepts that are on trend, in line with briefs, and appropriate to the product and its market.
  • Come up with new innovative ideas for packaging. 
  • Producing accurate print-ready documents. 
  • Supporting with our in-house photo shooting. 
  • Design products that fit the purpose and develop the necessary research before commencing work.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of web development and platforms to inform design decisions.
  • Lead the process through concepts and mood boards. 


About You…


  • Experience as a graphic designer for a minimum of 1 year. ( we may accept graduates if you demonstrate the necessary skills). 
  • Experience with illustrations and comprehensive knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
  • A creative individual eager to work on a variety of projects, product designs, etc. 
  • Confident in managing a design project from start to finish. 
  • Able to present a strong portfolio of previous work. 
  • A Degree in Marketing, Multimedia, Product Design or Graphic Design is preferable but optional. 
  • A keen eye for typography, colour and space. 
  • Fantastic attention to detail. 
  • Eager to wear many hats within the business and happy to learn new things. 
  • Happy to join a small team startup that wants to take the scented experience to the next level.
  • Have a design background in digital and print and a strong portfolio. 
  • Organised and able to work efficiently on your own. 
  • Advanced understanding of digital formats across screen sizes and devices
  • Ability to handle multiple design projects in a fast-paced weekly workflow

 

Brownie points


  • Basic 3d design knowledge.
  • Traditional drawing, painting and illustration skills would be a massive plus. 
  •  Experience in fashion-related industries or candles/home decor is an advantage.
