Credit Controller - Colchester Permanent 40 hours per week
A position has arisen within our Credit Control department for a Credit Controller to join our long-established organisation based in Colchester.
This is a busy role where no 2 days are the same so we are looking for someone who can multi-task with great organisation skills. A real team player is essential as we are a small credit control team who all pull together to get the job done and have to work to tight deadlines. Your excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) will be required as you will be dealing with both our external and internal customers.
Key responsibilities:
- Collection of circa 800 active accounts in the Credit Control department via telephone, email and letter
- Ensure that all appropriate action is taken on non- paying accounts by way of payment plan’s,
- To collate and allocate all cheques received into the Credit Control department
- Have an understanding of GDPR
- Be responsible for ensuring that any cash or monies from tills or from clients is secure
- To take credit and debit card payments from clients
- To complete monthly bank reconciliations, working closely with the Management Accounts Team.
- To raise new trade accounts and all associated paperwork attached in accordance with Money Laundering Regulation
- To complete the post on a daily basis both incoming and out-going by way of franking machine , large item’s ie. parcels and by registered post,
- To have a general understanding of current legislation concerning collections, including interest , Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act , and Court fees
