Job Description

This role is to provide a range of analytics and modelling to support the development of new innovative capabilities and extending this to delivery of pilot projects for some of the world’s biggest brands. Sitting in a broader Advanced Analytics team of data scientists, the core focus of the role is on consumer insight and the ability to target audiences effectively with smart algorithms using privacy compliant methods.

Key Responsibilities

The person in this role, will focus on:

  • Audience creation and insight curation
  • Audience modelling and activation algorithms
  • New fusion methods to connect different datasets
  • Consumer journey understanding
  • These projects include a full range of supporting analytics covering;
  • Feature creation
  • Addressing bias and weighting
  • Validations
  • Model selection


The role will also provide exposure to the full range of Annalect Advanced Analytics capabilities including:

  • Connected Measurement (e.g. MMM, attribution modelling)
  • Planning Foundations (e.g. Channel planning)
  • Additional innovations as they are developed by the Annalect team


Whilst data planners and strategy consultants will lead the scope of projects, this role will need to input into the development of analysis plans.

There will also be a small element of peer review for other members of the Annalect Advanced Analytics team.

Lead on the development of new media optimization capabilities.

Data evaluations to draft Annalect policy with partners and platforms.


Ideal Candidate

A rounded data/marketing scientist with the ability to complete projects individually as well as working in cross-agency teams.


Education/Experience

  • Numerate degree or degree with significant statistical content (eg Economics)
  • Experience in agency or equivalent in-house team
  • Previous role responsibility will include model development and insight creation


Skills

Training will be given on the specific Annalect capabilities, but will require a core understanding of data analysis and model development.


  • Statistician: Experienced in methodologies such as data preparation, exploratory data analysis/insight creation, predictive models, Stratification/sample weighting and clustering/segmentations
  • Data Visulisation: Ability to display insights in innovative and engaging ways
  • Story Telling: Interpretation of analysis output into useful and actionable insights. Connect insights from different data sources to create an understandable narrative.
  • Coding: Some development needed in following languages; Python, SQL and R.


Additional skills

In addition to the minimum experience listed above, the successful candidate should have had exposure to some of the following;

  • Predictive modelling
  • Attribution modelling
  • Multivariate model developments
  • Geographical analytics
  • Text mining and content analytics
  • Conjoint analysis
  • Machine learning processes
  • Data manipulation language; such as Python, R or similar
  • Experience using website analytics packages (i.e. GA)
  • Familiar with digital tracking technologies (ad servers, DSPs, DMPs)
  • Experience with big data (e.g. cookie logs) and cloud technologies - AWS, Redshift, S3, Athena, GCP, BigQuery
  • Experience of using git for version control (e.g. BitBucket)
  • Experience with Jupyter Notebooks
