My leading, global Software client is currently looking for a Data Warehouse Architect to join their Business Intelligence team based in London. As the Data Warehouse Architect, you will take a strategic approach to transform data into information and make it available for users. This is an excellent permanent opportunity, offering £80,000 - £90,000 per annum plus bonus and benefits as well as a flexible working environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing detailed data warehouse models and data mappings.
- Resolving any and all issues throughout the development lifecycle.
- Performing performance optimization and tuning on new and/or existing data warehouse implementations
- Building API connections - connecting data from various sources via API to the data warehouse
- Implementing Data Ops processes - creating and continuously refining the process for ensuring staff has access to the latest data without interruption
- Designing data warehouse and data lake architecture - creating the foundations of how they structure data using Google BigQuery
- Transforming data - creating routines that will transform raw data into meaningful information that can be accessed by business and data analysts
- Using machine learning - setting up predictive models using BigQuery's easy-to-learn in-built Machine Learning features
- Providing detailed documentation, end-user training, and knowledge-transfer services to customers.
- Developing and maintaining expertise in advanced and/or emerging data warehouse and analytical information technologies such as Hadoop, in-memory analytics, data warehouse appliances, and data warehouse virtualization.
Must-have skills & experience:
- Minimum 4 years solid experience leading data warehousing, big data, and ETL projects as a designer or architect
- Strong knowledge of general data warehousing concepts
- Experience troubleshooting Data Warehouse problems - supporting Machine Learning, telecommunications, Business Intelligence, financial reporting projects
- Solid experience with data management and governance
- Experience building API connectors
- Previous experience in Agile ways of working (Kanban, Scrum) tracked in JIRA or Trello, or DataOps teams
- Expert knowledge of SQL
- Knowledge of Snowflake and DataOps
- Experience or exposure to Google Cloud Big Query is advantageous
