Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator with DV clearance to support critical projects for our client. This role requires the highest level of security clearance due to the sensitive nature of the projects and mandates that services be delivered from a secure on-shore location.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for databases, providing support to various lifecycle teams including development, infrastructure, testing, and production.
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize database performance to ensure server availability, including troubleshooting performance and connection issues.
- Implement and maintain high availability setups such as Always On HA, Mirroring, log shipping, and Microsoft Clustering.
- Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures, ensuring their proper functionality.
- Create and monitor database alerts, promptly responding to and resolving alerts as needed.
- Build and configure database environments based on operational and business requirements, adhering to standards and best practices.
- Occasionally travel to client sites nationwide and be available for out-of-hours support and on-call duties as required.
Key Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in database administration, including backups, maintenance, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in SQL development and scripting tools, with a strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server Stack (SSMS, SSAS, SSIS & SSRS).
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server internals and core database functionality, including indexes, schemas, and triggers.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong understanding of database architecture and design principles.
