Dealership Accountant Required for Family Run Car Dealership
Location: Sidcup, Kent
Pay: £40,000 - £45,000 + per annum, depending on experience
Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday - our client can entertain flexible start and finish times within reason. Please note there is no working from home available for this position initially.
Are you an experienced Dealership Accountant with a background in the motor retail sector seeking a new challenge? If so, our client has a rare opportunity for a hands-on Dealership Accountant to become a valuable member of their award winning Automotive Team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide monthly financial management information, including management accounts, analysis, KPI reports, and information for the Directors, ensuring actual spend against budget is tracked and reported to the management team.
- Prepare profit and cash flow forecasts on a weekly, quarterly, and ad-hoc basis.
- Assist with working capital management, controlling funding plans/loan accounts, VAT submissions, and bank reconciliations.
- Collaborate closely with the site management team to enhance performance and support decision-making processes.
- Ensure all accounting and reporting deadlines are met, producing timely and accurate financial information.
- Manage prepayments, accruals, debtor and creditor control accounts, ensuring suppliers are paid according to agreed terms.
- Support the Directors in producing annual budgets, statutory year-end accounts, and returns, providing full supporting documentation and liaising with auditors during audits.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrate good IT skills, with a sound knowledge of Excel and Dealer Management Systems.
- Attend management meetings and monthly account reviews.
- Innovate and investigate new working practices when required, with a flair for developing internal systems and processes to support growing business needs.
The ideal candidate will have a methodical and diligent approach to work, be well-organised, and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced automotive environment as well as being dynamic, aspirational and looking to develop and grow alongside our client. Flexibility with working hours to meet business needs is essential.
