Our client is looking for an exceptional and ambitious 3+ PQE Legal Counsel with a Financial background to join its outstanding global Legal team. They are a multinational business with operations around the globe and boast an excellent and dynamic working environment.
They are looking for someone to join the legal team to work on the debt facilities and finance arrangements. The legal team perform a crucial role in providing advice to multiple internal stakeholder teams in respect of the finance documents within a multinational, highly complex, regulated group structure. Reporting into the Head of Legal for Finance and Strategic Projects, this role holder will have the responsibility to build relationships and engagement with key stakeholders across the wider group.
What you'll do:
- maintain a detailed understanding of the business and applying this knowledge to provide strategic legal services;
- review, and advise on various finance agreements with the assistance of external counsel, including US and UK law loan and bond agreements, security documents, and other related legal documents;
- carry out due diligence processes for finance transactions, including collating relevant materials, reviewing documentation and identifying legal risks.
- provide timely and effective legal advice and communicate closely with internal stakeholders, including finance, risk management, and compliance teams.
- manage external counsel;
- analyse existing processes and identify opportunities for efficiency;
- assist the wider legal team in other ad-hoc legal matters as required.
What You’ll Need:
- Excellent academic qualifications and at least three years post qualification experience working in debt finance/DCM.
- proactive and reliable with a get-stuff-done mentality;
- to take on responsibility and the confidence to make decisions and provide commercial advice outside of your area of specialism or jurisdictional qualification;
- player and able to work closely with other divisions and external advisers;
- to work in a fast paced environment;
- organisational skills;
- communication and drafting skills;
- record of delivering transactions and experience with debt finance and/or DCM; and
- acumen and confidence to engage with business leaders.
