Decommissioning Operative Aldermaston £32,771 + benefits Introduction We are looking for a Decommissioning Operative to join a company based in Aldermaston that delivers decommissioning and waste management solutions to the nuclear industry.

You will be part of a team that completes decommissioning, decontamination, size reduction and waste management activities.
Roles & Responsibilities As the Decommissioning Operative you will be responsible for: Plant and equipment size reduction, decontamination, and building/room/floor decontamination.
Keeping your personal training up to date including basic health and safety, safety practices and introduction to radiation protection.
Ensuring your ongoing training is current with the relevant roles or sites that you will work on.
Support to HP monitors during waste packaging and processing.
Other work areas could involve plant operations, installation, and support to commissioning.
Complete and maintain as necessary all associated records and documentation.
Contribute to the development of business by internal referral and communication of appropriate information and intelligence.
Skills & Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace or equivalent.
Work experience within a decommissioning, engineering, science or construction environment.
Aware of radiological issues and protocols for safe working.
Familiar with working on nuclear licensed site or similar with specific hazards/operations.
Maintain simple records and documents in a readable format.
Utilisation of technical or scientific data.
