Job Overview:
Leading the implementation of new cloud services to business users, as well as providing support for existing service offerings.
The Delivery Manager will be the facilitator of cross-functional groups to deliver projects. Will work in an agile way and will manage the Jira board for the delivery. Will be responsible for reporting progress to key stakeholders and escalation of any issues.
Projects could include the build or adaption of data pipelines to our existing data platform, similar for our evolving data platform or roll out of support services for new tools which will be key to the success of the Data & Analytics strategy.
Responsibilities Include:
•Work with the multi-disciplinary team who are the SME on the identification, design and development of appropriate solutions for each portfolio of projects and own their delivery.
•Facilitate cross-functional groups to plan and deliver projects.
•Oversee and coordinate the necessary delivery activities between the virtual teams sitting across Technology, DAT and business areas, ensuring processes, policies and standards are defined, agreed, maintained and consistently applied.
•Work with line management to manage project assigned internal resources to deliver the solution to the agreed plan, considering time, budget and quality, whilst motivating the delivery team and acting as a “virtual” team leader.
•Champion agile delivery methodology and help build understanding and capability across all teams.
•Report progress against plans to the key stakeholders, managing/escalating exceptions to the Team’s Manager, Senior Manager and appropriate Boards.
Essential criteria and experience
•Working in a change environment, and experience of how to manage change and business as usual together.
•Leading and coordinating delivery of projects, working closely and collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams. Experience in both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
•Experience of analytical and visualisation data tools/products and use cases, including cloud data services.
•Forming strong stakeholder relationships, with the ability to command credibility at senior management level and influence both business and technical decisions and behaviours. This means acquiring a reasonable understanding of Data & Analytics platforms; the nature of data and analytical work in different business areas; the approach to data management; and the change management processes.
•Strong emphasis on quality, accuracy and meeting deadlines.
•Capable of planning and strategic thinking. Demonstrate forward planning of own work, and that of their delivery team in alignment with the overall project.
•Able to identify and deploy the appropriate resources to deliver against agreed requirements driven from the solution design.
•Awareness and management of risk identification, mitigation and actions.
•Have a consistent track record of forming and maintaining trusting relationships with business colleagues and be able to demonstrate an interest in and understanding of business processes.
Desirable knowledge/competencies
•Good working knowledge of Jira & Confluence or similar packages.
•Exposure to data governance forums.
