Find out exactly what skills, experience, and qualifications you will need to succeed in this role before applying below.

As a Delivery Manager, I suspect you will want to work with top-class engineering and product squads, so you can ship some really cool features.

You’ll also probably want to work on a platform that hasn’t been iterated to the point of no return over the last twenty years.

You may also want to work for a company who are people-focused, committed to inclusivity and promoting psychological safety.

Then again, if you don’t want to work as a Delivery Manager on a scaling platform with global ambitions, it’s probably worth stopping reading here.

The client in question have a Project Delivery team of ten who are supported by a core product function and an abundance of talent in Engineering, UX, Digital Analytics and Data.

They have a range of squads looking at Marketplace, eCommerce as well as Customer Experiences, with in excess of 50m unique visitors to the site every year.

Essential Skills:

  • At least three years working within the delivery of tech projects (web, app, platforms)
  • Used to dealing with cross-functional delivery teams (Engineering, QA, UX, Analytics)
  • People-focused mindset; you should be someone who enjoys getting the most out of people and get satisfaction from progress
  • Practical Agile experience, and comfortability with multiple methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc)
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills – you should be able to have the hard conversations just as much as the nice ones

Desirable Skills:

  • A decent understanding of technical concepts; able to hold a conversation around backend services or APIs, for example (not essential, by any means).
  • Understanding of eCommerce journeys or payment gateways
  • Experience managing project budgets effectively

In return, you’ll get the opportunity to work with an awesome business who are really going places. Salary is broadly up to £60k for this role with a 15% bonus, 25 days holiday (and the ability to buy/sell), plus many other benefits.
