Job Description
An international law firm is looking for an experienced Deputy Head of Conflicts who will play a pivotal role in advising on conflict resolution, and ensuring the firm’s risk management processes align with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities Deputy Head of Conflicts:
- Lead and manage the conflicts team, providing guidance and support in conducting conflict checks and identifying potential conflicts of interest.
- Liaising with partners and senior stakeholders on client strategy and managing client relationships in terms of commercial conflicts to resolve conflicts issues.
- Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to conflict management.
- Conduct training and development for team members and the wider firm on conflicts of interest and related issues.
- Supporting and advising the Conflicts Committee/Deputy GC in putting together business cases and making recommendations for the Conflicts Committee's/ Deputy GC ‘s decision.
- Assist in monitoring and reviewing the firm’s systems and processes to improve conflict-checking efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Qualified solicitor or legal professional with significant experience in conflicts management (in particular experience of managing commercial conflict issues) within an international law firm.
- In-depth understanding of conflicts of interest regulations and professional conduct rules.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to manage complex conflict scenarios.
