Our client in Fakenham are looking for a Design Engineer with a mechanical background to join their close-knit team. This is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking business with exciting career progression opportunities.
As a Design Engineer, you will need the following:
- 2 years' experience as a Design Engineer
- Mechanical Engineering background
- A sound understanding of mechanical engineering, with good knowledge of machined parts, fabricated assemblies
- The ability to quickly and effectively create part and assembly drawings in accordance with BS8888 for internal and external
- The ability to prioritise workload
- Excellent working knowledge of Solidworks 3D CAD or similar
- Able to produce effective, detailed manufacturing information on time
- Working knowledge of Machinery Standards and relevant legislation
- Able to work as part of a small team
- Excellent communication skills
As a Design Engineer, your duties will include:
- Creation of detailed drawings of custom parts
- Source supplier quotes for custom-made parts, within the timescale and budget
- Procurement of custom-made and project-specific parts, within timescale and budget
- Creation of BOMs for special products
- Creation of assembly drawings/work instructions for manufacture
