DESIGN MANAGER


Job Purpose


The role will be part of the Capital Projects Management Team who are accountable for implementing the buildings and infrastructure programme required to support Agratas’ ambitious plans.


Key Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage design development.
  • Responsible for the development and governance of the design development which supports the project.
  • Contribute to the development of the overall approach to the build program, its major timeframes and the definition of its major deliverables to address and meet the desired outcomes.
  • Ensure projects remain within budget, managing the financial aspects including contracts, change orders and any disputes.
  • Accurate estimation and predictability of costs and timing.
  • Challenge technical assumptions to ensure that optimum solutions are achieved for the project.
  • Engage and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders including architects, engineers, subcontractors and regulatory agencies.
  • Evaluate and implement lessons learned for continuous improvement.


Experience and Qualification


  • Technical proficiency either Design Management, MEP, civils and structural engineering or Architecture experience along with the ability to adapt, innovate and meet changing demands.
  • Experience in developing large complex projects through the design phase through to contract.
  • Background in managing construction projects within batteries, pharma, R&D, hospitals, large-scale manufacturing, aerospace, Semi-Conductors, Specialized Environments, or other large/gigafactory builds.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team with excellent people management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Civil, Structural, Architectural or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professionally qualified programme/project management (eg. APMP, MSP) or other build environment related discipline (e.g., RICS) is desirable but not essential
