Creating new culinary ideas for these food presentations (e.g., themed recipes, menus)Development and implementation of new food offers for the whole businessTraining for culinary teams at all levels of craft skillLead and support other culinary activities that celebrate the food culture of the sector – e.g., designing/supporting internal chef competitions.Supporting the mobilisation of new contracts when they join our businessSupporting unit chef challenges – relief supportLeading large high-profile hospitality events at our units Over the course of a year you should expect you time to be split roughly equally between food presentations to clients, direct support and coaching, and development/execution of new food concepts and ideasPerson SpecificationA real passion for foodAn ability to demonstrate knowledge of food trends and development in a way that is inspiring and motivating for our clientsCreative food/food service backgroundUnderstanding of purchasing/sourcing products/ingredientsExperience of developing food concepts and implementation of these conceptsExperience of working in a fast paced/forward thinking environmentstrong people skill with an ability to communicate effectively and influenceAbility to build relationships with lots of different types of peopleAbility to direct others to achieve goalsKnowledge of different food production methodsStrong project management skillsEssential Team player working in a busy environmentBe able to work on own initiativeSome travel includedFull driving license requiredTo train Unit Management staff and cooks and deliver great food at unit levelWork well within the school environment and be able to insipe young peopleTo have some flexibility around term time hours DBSCar essential - mileage coveredDesirable To be creative and come up with new ideas for school foodBe involved with menu planningBe able to strive for increased uptake at school levelWork alongside the management teams and strategic planningLiaise with the School client attending client meetings when need beAbout UsPart of Compass Group UK&I, Chartwells is the leading provider of catering and support services to the education sector.
