£35,000 - £40,000 dependent on experience

Blush & Bloom Talent are working with a leading player in the cosmetics and personal care industry, who are looking to recruit an experienced formulator to join their R&D team. You will be responsible for creating and developing new and existing formulations across the skincare, haircare and bath & body category. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a company that values creativity, collaboration, and professional growth.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of formulating experience in the personal care industry. The successful candidate will have a proven background in formulation and product development, with a passion for creating innovative products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and formulate new and existing personal care products, including skincare, haircare, and cosmetics.
  • Conduct stability testing and analyse results to ensure product efficacy and safety.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, regulatory, and manufacturing, to bring new products to market.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve formulation issues during the development process.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of formulations, processes, and test results.
  • Assist in the scale-up and commercialisation of new products.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the personal care industry.
  • Strong knowledge of formulation techniques and ingredient functionalities.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and safety standards for personal care products.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
