Digital Editor- B2B- FMCG Publisher

Location: Hybrid - 3 days total in office (2 days in West Sussex-non negotiable + 1 day in London/West Sussex)

Salary: up to £75k plus benefits

Reporting into the editor-to-chief this digital editor role is responsible for the day-to-day running of the digital operations, as well as supporting it's digital transformation through strategic development and change.

You'll be at the forefront of the digital operations and strategic development, ensuring their users/readers get the best experience.

To be considered for this role you must possess top notch management skills and having had previous success managing and leading teams. In this role you will manage the Digital and Social Editor, Chief Sub Editor, and Editors of related platforms, ensuring high standards and prompt issue resolution.

Responsibilities:

  • Shape strategic direction and brand positioning.
  • Develop and implement digital strategies focusing on UX, SEO, taxonomy, and more.
  • Optimise content for narrative, layout, SEO, and user experience.
  • Manage and update home and landing pages.
  • Plan, commission, and edit diverse digital content.
  • Ensure efficient site operations and maximize resources.
  • Analyse site performance to inform content strategies.
  • Train and develop the editorial team in digital skills.
  • Manage newsletter production and performance.
  • Coordinate editorial webinars.
  • Support the growth of related digital platforms.
  • Partner on digital strategy and innovation.
  • Support commercial opportunities and content integration.
  • Expand content reach with the marketing team.
  • Engage with other brands on shared content missions.

Candidate Requirements:

Be an outstanding editor and journalist, with experience in commissioning, editing and promoting all forms of digital output (ie including video, podcasts and social media).

Have a passion for digital storytelling, ensuring that our content is compellingly written, edited and formatted, featuring optimal use of headlines, imagery, data visualization and audio/video to engage and capture the attention of subscribers and new prospects alike.

Have demonstrable skill and experience in devising and delivering successful digital content strategies, integrated workflows and digital transformation, using Adobe Analytics data to support decision making.

Have a proven track record of operating successfully in a digital-only environment, using content management systems, data analytics, data visualization and other tools

Possess good people management and training skills to enable and bring the best out of our large editorial team in an age of influencers, platforms and AI
