Job Introduction

We are known as Cars Digital and we are the central media sales unit for Bauer’s two flagship consumer car websites; www.parkers.co.uk and www.carmagazine.co.uk . As a team we are responsible for driving all digital display revenues from all UK car manufacturers managed by their appointed UK media planning and buying agencies.

The team combines a top-level combination of personality and professionalism – something that is extremely rare and essential to our successes. Our experience of the autos market is immense, so you won’t be left in the boot, and we fuel this to ideate digital solutions and strategies that are ahead of competitor options.

The main focus of this role will be to identify customers’ marketing and digital advertising needs and goals using an consultative approach and provide the right commercial solutions to match their marketing and business objectives in line with your market/title strategy. In essence particular attention should be given within these main areas:

  • Customer Focus – consultative approach
  • Title, Market and Financial Management
  • Utilising brand assets

This role will also require travel to London for agency visits (COVID permitting). Due to the nature of the role and the contract length, we are also flexible on your location. 

Role Responsibility
  • Achieving revenue and yield targets - supports other team members at every opportunity with this process 
  • Accurate personal forecasting - supports other team members at every opportunity with this process
  • Growing customer spend by managing existing customers and creating new opportunities
  • Drives own activity levels, arranging and setting a key number of face-to-face client meetings based on customer numbers
  • Acts as a mentor for others within the commercial team
  • Ownership of a set number of ‘Key’ accounts within your market - determined by spend and brand authority
  • Understanding market conditions and competitive forces
  • Understanding and delivering additional advertising solutions based on trends within the industry
  • Keeping accurate customer records using internal CRM system
  • Leading and contributing to sales/brand/market/editorial meetings
  • Is the face of the market being represented – is the key link between our key accounts and our editorial/marketing teams 
  • Manages and leads the team in the absence of the Commercial Manager/Commercial Director
  • Supporting brand specific Key Account staff and telesales managers within Bauer Direct by sharing knowledge and key insights into set market
  • Compliance with relevant data protection guidelines
  • All of the above to be delivered with our key business values in mind
