Hours: 6 hours a week with possibility to increase

Term: 4 to 6 months will the possibility to extend

Location: remote working

Salary: up to £25 per hour depending on experience (PAYE or Freelance)

We plan to offer nationwide classes, workshops and events to children and young people on a wide variety of subjects under our five educational Hubs: Code, STEM, Innovation & Enterprise, Creativity and Health & Wellbeing.

Role & Responsibilities

We plan to launch our Online Learning Platform for children and young people in September 2024. We are looking for a talented Digital Learning Designer to play a key role in this initiative by creating engaging and effective educational content.

As our Digital Learning Designer, you will lead the design and development of digital learning content and work closely with subject matter experts to create excellent learning materials. Our current subject offerings are coding and STEM. Using your expertise and passion for technology-based learning, you will help our students learn more effectively.

We will also be creating learning content for our staff and volunteers, such as safeguarding training and a development programme for our instructors.

You must be comfortable leading the full cycle of learning design and delivery from start to finish and be confident in your ability to challenge/influence where necessary.

You will work closely with our Founder and key team members to deliver the project. Moodle is our chosen product for the Online Learning Platform, and we are using Articulate and Rise for content creation. We are also seeking a suitable product to use to create animation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and create digital learning content using Articulate and Rise.
  • Work with subject matter experts to tailor content to meet the learning needs of our audiences.
  • Create instructional materials suitable for multiple delivery modes, including instructor-led in-person, virtual classes and self-learning.
  • Create self-learning resources in partnership with corporates and other external organisations.
  • Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners, develop and evolve formats and templates, integrating learning principles.

The ideal person will have

  • Significant experience with e-learning products that includes Articulate and Rise. Experience with Moodle is highly desirable.
  • Experience in creating animation and visual content is highly desirable.
  • Background in STEM or technology-related fields is highly beneficial.
  • Previous teaching experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong project management skills and proficiency in instructional design principles.
  • Experience with UX/UI design, 5Di process, and a solid understanding of the latest educational technology trends is desirable.
