Department overview:

This exciting client facing role is based within the Business & Relationship Management (BRM) department in London, reporting to a Senior Director in the EMEA Financial Institutions (FI) BRM team. The principal objective of the team is to manage and optimise existing relationships with FI issuers and other market participants and to originate new FI rating mandates through targeted marketing and client engagement.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced DCM new business and relationship manager for the FI BRM team, based in London. This highly self-motivated and focussed individual will have direct responsibility for the origination of new business opportunities across Northern Europe, with the aim of winning new mandates.

As an integral member of the BRM team, the successful candidate would provide proactive strategic thinking to the senior team, in order to further develop the success of the EMEA FI BRM group.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

-New Business Generation

Lead responsibility for the origination of new FI rating mandates across Northern Europe. The role will involve working closely with the Fitch analytical teams to prioritise and execute on new mandates and pitching activities.

- Relationship Management

Manage a portfolio of existing issuer relationships.

- Marketing Materials

Enhance existing pitchbooks and develop new persuasive business development materials to support marketing efforts.

- Business Planning

Develop and execute strategic business plans to pursue opportunities of generating new rating mandates with Fitch analytical teams. Liaise frequently with BRM colleagues in EMEA to help coordinate market interaction.

- Strategic Projects

Responsible for managing and executing ad-hoc strategic projects in areas such as new product development, competitor analysis and bespoke marketing initiatives.

From the outset, the successful candidate will enjoy a significant degree of autonomy and responsibility, with excellent opportunities for self and career development. This individual must be a self-starter, be proactive, have an eye for detail, be highly organised and have a strong follow up and deliver ethos. The role will involve some European travel.

This role requires knowledge/experience of Debt Capital Markets (DCM), ideally gained from working within a DCM, Syndication, Credit Rating Agency or Advisory role. An understanding of credit analysis would be an advantage. The candidate must have excellent communication skills to C-suite level. Professional marketing and interpersonal skills are a pre-requisite with a successful track record of developing commercial relationships and opportunities.

Qualifications and experience:

This role requires an experienced individual with highly developed and proven successful new business and relationship management skills.

Understanding and experience of Debt Capital Markets

Experience of developing business plans and leading strategic projects

Strong marketing, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Excellent English language communication and presentation skills, verbal & written. Other language skills viewed as a plus.

Ability to work independently within a strategic framework, whilst maintaining high standards and excellent attention to detail.

Team oriented, with the ability to effectively build relationships internally and externally.

An existing network of relationships with Corporate Treasurers, rating Advisors and DCM contacts would be advantageous.

Strong knowledge of preparing business development materials using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CRM (Client Relationship Management) systems (e.g. Salesforce) and knowledge or aptitude to work with market data systems such as Bloomberg, Reuters, FactSet, Dealogic
