BlackRock - s Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) team is the investment group at the heart of BlackRock's portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. MASS draws on the full toolkit of index, factor, and alpha-seeking investment capabilities to deliver precise investment outcomes and innovative alpha insights. Our team of 300+ multi-asset investment professionals constructs active asset allocation strategies and whole portfolio solutions across a wide spectrum of commingled funds, separate accounts, model portfolios, and outsourcing solutions in the wealth and institutional channels. Currently, MASS handles approximately $1 trillion in assets and has a strong presence in the Americas, EMEA and throughout Asia Pacific.
Within MASS, Manager Research evaluates investment strategies for multi-manager client portfolios, working closely with portfolio managers across client segments and asset managers globally.
Your responsibilities
We are looking for an accomplished leader, people manager and business builder with the highest standards of fiduciary investing, who:
Owns and drives the continued evolution of research depth and breadth, as well as the investment universe covered,
Builds out and monitors a book of recommended equity strategies in line with BlackRock Manager Research best-practices, taking ownership and responsibility of performance
Collaborates with our whole-portfolio solutions portfolio managers to support new and existing client relationships, cross-functional projects, manager selection and blending
Drives innovation in research by actively bringing together qualitative, quantitative and tech expertise on team and throughout BlackRock
Represents BlackRock Manager Research in client meetings during client due diligence and discussing the investment strategies in client portfolios
Closely follows portfolios of managers and make recommendations with regards to manager sizing within portfolios and manager retention
Independently and collaboratively researches equity strategies,
With the team plan and conduct investment and operational manager research as it pertains to that manager - s ability to invest effectively and add alpha above their respective benchmarks
As team leader, mentors and grows more junior talent, sets priorities and drives change across the team
About you
Successful track record across market cycles in investment, manager and operational research on investment managers with a focus on equity strategies
An accomplished people manager with strong communication skills, organizational and analytical capabilities
Global mindset and work experience
Flexible, adaptable and self-starting personality. Proven experience working both independently and as part of a team
Strong cross team and firm relationship building skills, capable of adapting style of communication to the audience

Our hybrid work model
BlackRock - s current hybrid work model is designed to enable in-person connections and collaboration that is core to our culture, while supporting increased flexibility for all employees. In line with local health guidance and regulations, employees are required to work at least 3 days in the office each week, with the flexibility to work from home up to 2 days a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
