Overview

Pragmatic is seeking an exceptional Director of IC Design to lead a growing team through a critical period for the business. The Director of IC Design will be responsible for developing and delivering innovative mixed-signal IP, foundation IP, and IC products, targeting Pragmatic's FlexIC process.

Leveraging strong technical and management skills, the successful applicant will ensure that differentiating IP is developed for both Pragmatic standard products and for foundry customers. This will require a focus on both innovation and project execution, striking a balance between near term revenue generation and longer term technology roadmaps.


The IC Design team covers disciplines from concept to tape out, including systems engineering, analog / digital design, and layout. Reporting to the VP Product Development, the Director IC of Design will own the development strategy for a growing team, building capability and capacity to meet the demands of a dynamic and fast moving business.


Key tasks

  • Provide technical leadership and line management of the IC Design function
  • Develop IP roadmaps delivering innovative IP to the FlexIC foundry
  • Work closely with the technology team to help define next generation platforms
  • Develop appropriate verification methodologies for mixed-signal IP and FlexIC’s
  • Partner with Program Management Office to create plans and provide resources
  • Drive a Right-First-Time philosophy for FlexIC tape outs, based on proven IP starting point
  • Create design collateral in support of internal Design Quality System
  • Attend project and design review meetings to represent team and to resolve issues


Qualifications and training

  • Degree or post-graduate in electronic engineering, or equivalent experience


Skills and experience

  • Solid understanding of IC Design, including architecture, analog, digital and implementation
  • Previous line management experience, ideally in multi-disciplined teams
  • Experience in mentoring team members, developing career goals, and enabling growth
  • Ability to think strategically to develop effective plans and organisational structure
  • Stakeholder management, representing the team to internal and external customers
  • Experience in IC Design EDA methodology and roll out of new flows
  • Proactive problem solving skills, willing to work across boundaries to ensure success
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and progress multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to craft compelling narratives, both written and verbal
