Director of Business Applications - Remote Hybrid (Location Flexible)

As our Director of Business Applications, your roleis a strategic position reporting into the Chief Technology Officer and sitting on the Technology Leadership Team. The Head of Applications will shape, drive and lead our ambitious plans for the transformation and management of our Application technologies.
Your responsibilities as our Director of Business Applications will include:
- Setting and owning the delivery of the Applications IT Strategy
- Delivering and effectively managing the Application Life Cycle Management in BFS
- Leading various activities including technical upgrades, configuration and business as usual activity
- Providing the team oversight and planning related to the management of applications including projects, enhancements and support
- Leading multiple teams of professionals to accomplish the team, and individual, objectives and targets set
- Leading a service oriented team that delivers exceptional solutions and results.
- Developing the individuals within the team to meet their fullest potential – this includes coaching, objectives, development plans and continuous performance management and feedback
- Modifying and adapting, as needed, the approach of the team in order to improve team performance.
- Owning the budgeting for all Applications ensuring appropriate controls are implemented. The budget for Applications within BFS is £3.5m
What we are looking for in our ideal Director of Business Applications:
- A positive and pragmatic leader who has experience in an Application Management delivery role
- A strong leader capable of managing multiple teams and cross functional teams
- The ability to develop, mentor and coach team members to enable their professional growth and success within their role
- A senior Leader with hands on experience of the Application Lifecycle, with proven capabilities in the establishment and delivery of application strategies and roadmaps
- An outstanding communicator with the ability to articulate information to senior stakeholders as well as a technical audience
