POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Creative Operations is responsible for the operations and profitability for all design and production services. They oversee workflows and financial processes, ensuring production services deliver within SLAs and to client satisfaction. They are also responsible for resource management in order to balance operational efficiency against service requirements. This role reports directly into the Senior Director of Creative Operations.
JOB DUTIES
Operational Responsibilities
* Articulates aesthetic requisites by translating client ideas across appropriate teams toward a successful product
* Creatively and technically manages full lifecycle of in scope projects across appropriate studio or creative team members to successfully meet client needs
* Partners with the client throughout the lifecycle of each project to ensure an end-result that meets brand integrity and marketing objectives
* Leverages advanced, specialized experience in creative design (technical and market knowledge) to review work for final quality control and brand adherence, ensuring the client’s creative vision has been appropriately translated to the end product.
Contributes to client relationship by being keenly aware of client’s business objectives
Solves problems through proactive involvement with the client against project goals
Ensures service that maintains and develops client relationships
Maintains a forward thinking approach to industry trends that may impact client needs
Ensure client SLA and deliverable dates are met
Ensure all jobs are properly booked and invoiced
Ensure latest workflow methodologies are reviewed and applied as appropriate
Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders involved in key projects
Ensure that communication is effective and sharing of knowledge is routine
Personnel Responsibilities
Ensure appropriate levels of staffing are maintained
Set clear objectives and targets for all direct reports - monitor and review regularly
Identify, lead, manage, motivate and develop a team to support the successful delivery of all opportunity assessment and diligence activities
Support the personal development and progression of all direct reports
Financial Responsibilities
Work with the Sr. Director, Creative Operations to accurately report a monthly unit P&L
Manage staff costs, equipment costs and software costs
Forecast and manage towards revenue targets on monthly, quarterly, annual basis
Ensure billing and WIP reporting is in order and work closely with Finance to maintain billing integrity
Participate in pricing exercises for creative production work
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
8+ years’ experience in an integrated - Creative, Print, Digital - production environment
Bachelor’s degree in creative field. A combination of work experience and education can be substituted
Proven mastery driving creative direction by orchestrating creative vision across proper technologies and team members
Conceptual thinker who can brainstorm to define creative vision, solve problems and identify priorities for execution against strict creative, quality and brand standards
Full knowledge of integrated production methodologies and formats
Proficiency in current business software (Office, Google) required.
Extensive knowledge of workflow production technologies and applications essential
Experience with Agile, Lean, Six Sigma methodologies preferred
Client facing experience essential
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to juggle numerous tasks at once and deliver assets effectively, and work towards tight timelines
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position works in an office environment, 20% travel may be required.
The salary range for this position is $125K minimum - $170K maximum per annum. Compensation varies depending on location, job-related factors such as experience, responsibilities, and business needs.
