Join us at the National Theatre to provide strategic vision and leadership to the team delivering a world-class quality experience to all those who visit us.

We are excited to be recruiting for a new Director of Customer Experience & Commercial Operations.

About the role:

Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, you'll be responsible for identifying new ways to enhance the customer experience and strengthen our offer to new and existing audiences.

Working strategically and innovatively to provide the highest quality service across retail, tours and other services you will encourage customers to engage with everything the National Theatre can offer.

You will be responsible for maximising profitable earned income through the proactive and creative development of appropriate and high-quality trading activity to support the National Theatre in delivering its artistic aims and ambitions.

Who we're looking for:

We're looking for an inspirational leader who has experience leading a large customer-facing team, within in a similar organisation. You'll have the ability to equally champion delivering world class customer experience whilst also delivering strong commercial results. You'll have proven experience in executing plans and delivering results.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence, building strong relationships and planning collaboratively will be your strengths. Alongside your strategic and creative mind, with the ability to inspire entrepreneurialism in others, you will have a high level of self-motivation and the ability to meet demanding projects within tight deadlines.

Your experience of effective budget management and strong analytical skills, with a proven track record of setting tangible KPIs will be paramount in this role to ensure reporting, interpreting and analysing results leads to change.

Driving staff engagement, developing a representative and inclusive workforce, promoting up-skilling and further development of your team are all things you are passionate about and have proven experience in.
