Director of Finance

The Trustees of the Latymer Foundation at Hammersmith are pleased to invite applications for the post of Director of Finance. A foundation-wide role responsible for all financial and strategic matters relating to both Latymer Prep School and Latymer Upper School, the Director of Finance will be a key member of the Foundation's Senior Leadership, working closely with the Head and acting as a key member of Governors' committees. Educating approximately 1,400 academically able girls and boys aged 7 - 18 years, the Latymer Foundation nurtures an innovative and caring community, where the Latymer "Buzz" permeates throughout. The Foundation has one of the most successful and ambitious bursary programmes in the country, with its core aims and ethos fully aligned to the vision and ethos instilled by its founder, Edward Latymer, in 1624.

The Director of Finance will work in close collaboration with all strategic partners in order to develop and implement the Foundation's strategic plan, identifying both opportunities and threats for Latymer and within the independent school sector more broadly. They will also manage the day-to-day financial operations of both schools, oversee estates projects, coordinate both short and long-term budgeting and forecasting processes and hold line-management responsibility across Finance, Strategic projects, IT and Estates and Facilities.

A wide-ranging and diverse role, the Director of Finance will need to demonstrate a proven record of success in strategic and operational financial management gained at a senior level. They will be familiar with charitable accounting, investment management, pension administration and, with wider commercial acumen, will be confident in developing the work of the schools' IT and Estates departments. In addition, they will be experienced in managing people in a large and complex setting capable of delivering change and modernisation through outstanding leadership and teamwork. Furthermore, a commercial mindset to diversify revenue streams beyond core-income (school fees) and an ability to think strategically to offset potential risks will be essential.

Further information on the Foundation can be found at www.latymerfoundation.org and on the Schools at www.latymer-upper.org and www.latymerprep.org.

A candidate brief including details of the role and information on how to apply can be downloaded from www.odgers.com/88152

Letters of application and CVs should be submitted by the closing date, 9am GMT on Friday 10 March, to Freddie Dennis at Odgers Berndtson.

Latymer Upper School (registered charity no. 312714) is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
