Director of Finance & Resources

Permanent Opportunity - South Wales Based

Salary circa £65,000 + Exceptional Benefits

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen in the South Wales area to work for a truly ambitious and growing 3rd Sector provider.

Working and reporting into the Chief Executive and working closely with the Executive Team and Board of Trustees, you will act as the key person on site for all finance matters, having responsibility for producing the end-to-end accounts.

My client is seeking a commercially astute individual, that is used to dealing with financial and non-financial managers on a regular basis providing sound financial advice, accurate modelling and business growth plans to shape and drive the business forward.

Key to this role is to lead, deliver the organisations strategic and operational finances, lead on all aspects of risk and risk management, ensure the organisation operates within the Charity Commissions Code of Governance, whilst over seeing systems and data.

This role will be challenging and rewarding. You will act as part of the Senior Leadership team to work collaboratively and in partnership with key stakeholders throughout the region.

Key responsibilities to include:

  • All aspects of financial reporting, monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts with detailed analysis in order to enable strategic business decisions to be made
  • Monitor financial compliance inline with all financial statutory requirements
  • Oversee control of income, cashflow and expenditure
  • Develop KPIs and report on variances, whilst all the time reviewing performance and ensuring contingency plans are in place to ensure KPIs are achieved
  • Liaise with auditors at financial YE
  • Internal audit
  • As company secretary ensure legal obligations are met and adhered at all times
  • Deliver risk management strategy with the Board of Trustees
  • Responsibility for systems development and data management for the organisation
  • Oversee all aspects of HR and business admin team. Support, develop and coach team members

The role requires a dynamic and forward-thinking Qualified Accountant with relevant experience of working within the 3rd Sector, having dealt with change/risk management and operated successfully at Board level. The ideal candidate will be looking to make a difference add value to the business every step of the way.

You will possess excellent all-round communication skills, have the ability to work to tight deadlines and be happy to work as part of small, yet growing team. The role requires an individual who can take the initiative and work long-term with the Chief Executive and Board in order to achieve their ambitious growth plans.

Initially, you will be based on-site to support the growth and management of the team. However, long-term my client is happy to offer hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
