Department: Financial Services

Who are Tide:

At Tide, we’re on a mission to save businesses time and money. We’re the leading provider of UK SME business accounts and one of the fastest-growing FinTechs in the UK. Using the latest tech, we design solutions with SMEs in mind and our member-driven financial platform is transforming the business banking market. Not only do we offer our members business accounts and related banking services, but also a comprehensive set of highly connected admin tools for businesses.

Tide is about doing what you love. We’re looking for someone to join us on our exciting scale up journey and be a part of something special. We are wanting passionate Tideans to drive innovation and help build a best-in-class platform to support our members. You will be comfortable in ambiguous situations and will be able to navigate the evolving FinTech environment. Imagine shaping how millions of Tide members discover and engage with business banking platforms and building this on a global scale.

What we’re looking for:

As Director of Product - Member Engagementat Tide, you’ll be passionate about offering world class digital experiences to our small business members. We are looking for someone who has proven experience in designing and delivering mobile app experiences that our members will love.

Rather than standalone solutions, our Tide proposition is to offer deeply connected products and services. A key focus of this role will be to identify and deliver connectivity chains across different products and services offers. In this way, we can differentiate the Tide proposition and deliver on our mission of helping our members save time (and money).

This is a global role, and requires someone excited about working across different markets (and with experience of having done this previously!) While our core app functionality stays consistent across markets, varying degrees of localisation will be required. You’ll be flexible, adaptable and very open to rapid prototyping and testing of new ideas. We have recently launched in India and have plans for further internationalisation, so this presents a tremendous opportunity to make your mark on the business.

You’ll have extensive expertise working in collaboration with key stakeholders across the organisation – including engineering, marketing, product design, data, operations, finance – to ensure alignment and support for growth initiatives.

You will also have extensive know-how in pricing, bundling, tiering, and subscription models, and will be able to present these offers in the most compelling way possible. Tide offer a number of paid plans today (Plus, Pro, Cashback) and are looking for someone who can continually enhance this offering, and take plan subscriptions global, adapting as required to local market needs.

As Director of Product:

  • People leadership – You will be passionate about leading and coaching talented people, and have led geographically distributed teams
  • Maximising Value – Demonstrable experience of maximising value for customers by ensuring that your teams are prioritising work effectively via an OKR process, focusing on the biggest impact initiatives
  • Creating a clear vision – for how Tide can deliver the best app experience, and for how connectivity chains can work across our products as we scale internationally
  • Leading research initiatives – you’ve integrated research, usability studies, data science insights and market analysis to make data driven decisions and create experiences customers love. You love working with data and insights!
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders across the organisation – including engineering, marketing, product design, data, operations, finance – to ensure alignment and support for growth initiatives.
  • Working with marketing teams – taking joint responsibility for activating members, driving engagement, maximising retention, and effectively introducing new products and services to our member base.
  • Building compelling subscription plans across multiple markets
  • Experience in Agile frameworks in building software, you would be considered an expert in Backlog, Epics, Roadmaps and building software in Agile patterns at scale

What makes you a great fit:

  • 10+ years track record of growing successful, customer-centric digital products in a fintech or fast growing technology company
  • A strong people leader, able to build a great team environment working with globally distributed teams with deep expertise in their subject areas
  • Proven track record in mobile user activation and monetization, with extensive know-how in pricing, bundling, tiering, and subscription models
  • A great communicator, able to convey your ideas in a structured and persuasive way to a broad range of stakeholders
  • A deep understanding of product development processes using OKRs and agile frameworks
  • An extreme commercial focus, with prior experience of setting ambitious goals, delivering KPIs and achieving revenue targets for your area.
  • You’re data driven, commercially savvy, passionate about metrics, and open / honest about how your work is performing -- and driven to continuously improve it
  • You’re passionate about learning every day and sharing your knowledge and experience every day
  • Genuinely excited about supporting small businesses, in the UK and in global markets!

What you’ll get in return:
