Job Description

This is a great opportunity to shape and improve the policy and support environment around research contracting and compliance at a Russell Group university. Research and Innovation Services (RIS) is a dynamic department at the heart ofUniversityactivity. we facilitate academic collaborations, industrial interactions, knowledge exchange and impact development including commercialisation. We provide support to academics on research funding streams, preparing bid proposals, research ethics and integrity, and negotiating contracts for research & KEE.Our department supports business acceleration, local economic development, public and civic engagement and public policy.

This is a new leadership role that will bring together policy development and delivery of key services around researchcontracting,regulatory compliance and governance aligned to the University’s Strategy and strategic plans.

In an increasingly complex environment, you will be the lead legal and compliance expert in the University on research and enterprise, providing pragmatic advice and guidance to senior management across the University. You will develop and embed a culture of continuous improvement across the teams, leading, motivating and managing highly skilled professionals to deliver effective research contracting, research integrity and governance, and clinical governance and ethics services. You will make sure our academic colleagues are well equipped to understand their role in maintaining the integrity of the research system.
