Director – Product Management, Web

We have an exciting opportunity for a Director – Product Owner, Web to be based in our offices in Stockley Park, London UK

Reporting to the Senior Director, the role holder will be responsible for setting the strategy and roadmap of our web platforms, aimed at driving exceptional omnichannel customer experience. This role will be responsible for collaborating with engineering, UX, local affiliates, and other product teams to identify and solve customer problems and drive Gilead’s vision of creating a healthier world for all people.

The role holder will be an experienced product management professional, able to provide thought leadership on web strategy, realise the product ambition, and deliver exceptional and measurable customer experiences that address customer needs.

The role holder will have extensive experience in highly complex, regulated web platforms, working globally with our strategic marketing teams and other functions and locally with our country-level teams to ensure effective execution of our web strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a compelling web vision and strategy, inspire the team and the organisation and drive innovation.

  • Own the value generation and thought leadership around web and portals and balance short- and long-term objectives. Drive decisions on investment, budget and resource allocation to optimise organisational and customer benefits for web platforms (hosting, user management, content publishing etc).

  • Develop a multi-year product roadmap, balancing quick wins and strategic initiatives that deliver organisational value.

  • Break roadmap objectives to quarterly increments, focused on business objectives and key results. Identify and plan for cross-product dependencies in each increment.

  • Influence across organization boundaries and collaborate across the Global Commercial Strategy & Operations organisation to ensure cross-product and cross-functional alignment.

  • Drive optimal usage of centralized web platforms capabilities regarding multichannel customer engagement and leverage affiliate network to share multichannel practices and lessons learned.

  • Own the digital customer journey and continuously discover customer insights and jobs-to-be-done in collaboration with UX Research and local affiliate teams and position novel product features that deliver customer value. Collect and analyse data insights to inform web platforms roadmap and prioritisation.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams, change management, marketing, local affiliates, finance, other Product Owners, UX/UI, and external vendors to drive successful delivery of requirements, adoption of new web features and ensure value realisation.

  • Translate organisational and customer needs into product features, user stories, acceptance criteria and definition of done. Prioritize and groom the web platforms backlog, prioritising features based on value. Lead the execution of the roadmap, remove or escalate obstacles and ensure that features are fit for the intended purpose.

  • Ensure that all web platforms are in compliance with internal and external legal, compliance and privacy requirements and guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified or above with significant proven senior level experience and extensive knowledge of technology product management, technology-led business strategy transformations.

  • Experience with web platforms, website development, experimentation, and A/B testing

  • Good understanding of content management systems, search engine optimisation, and user management

  • Ability to understand and interpret web analytics (such as Google Analytics)

  • Basic knowledge in design, user experience and accessibility

  • Significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry and demonstrated capabilities in digital solutions, and the use of digital technologies to both transform business models and provide new customer value-producing opportunities

  • Excellent influencing and networking skills paired with stakeholder management

  • Experience in a cross-functional, multi-layered global environment, engaging with different levels in the organization

  • Experience in product management, agile methodology, and design thinking

  • Availability to travel internationally (as required)

  • Ability to make data driven decisions (qualitative or quantitative) and to build compelling business cases

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Proven ability to drive product coordination and execution

  • Demonstrated customer centric approach, ability to conduct customer interviews, understand needs and plan solutions
