Investment Banking (IB) and Cross Product Operations is a dynamic & diverse division that provides operational support to Deutsche Bank’s businesses. The Divisional Control Office (DCO) is an independent Risk Management function within Operations that executes all aspects of the bank’s Operational Risk Management policies/frameworks.

You will be a Risk Lead & advisor for global operational managers on all aspects of non-financial risk, leveraging the firm’s Non-Financial Risk Management framework.

You will execute first line risk management by

1. Identifying and measuring risks

2. Reviewing remediation plans & ensuring they are robust

Your key responsibilities

Manage key senior stakeholders and provide an in-depth view on operational risk and play a proactive role across the risk management lifecycle (Identify, Assess, Measure, Report, Mitigate)

Lead control and risk governance forums

Perform detailed review of remediation completed by Operations for internal & external findings. Advise management on design & operating effectiveness and ensure that all finding lifecycle events are completed in line with Deutsche Bank policy

Review and approve Risk Events ensuring completeness/timeliness/accuracy. Provide an objective view to remediation plans and perform lessons learned/read across

Perform Risk and Control Assessments, read across and deep dive assessments within agreed timelines to identify forward-looking risks

Your skills and experience

Strong experience in operational risk & control function or Audit within Banking Operations with proven team leadership capability

Experience with oversight of UKI risk management framework/governance for supporting Senior Management Framework 24 (Operations)

Expertise with management of internal/external/regulatory findings. Experience in performing/overseeing risk assessments with extensive knowledge of auditing standards/concepts

Understanding of risk management and control frameworks in a global banking control environment, with sound knowledge of banking activities, products, risk management techniques and regulatory requirements

Demonstrated ability to think strategically with respect to governance, oversight, risk, control agendas. Strong organisational & planning skills and a track record of delivery
