Job Title: Divisional Small Building Works Manager- Ideally a Joinery background

Location: Covering Central London and the surrounding areas

Salary: Up to £46,000.00 per annum

Benefits: Company Vehicle, company pension scheme, BUPA (single cover), 33 days holiday (including bank holidays). Overtime available at time and a half. Technicians are paid DOOR to DOOR.

Hours: 40 hours a week

We are advertising this Area Site Technician Supervisor role on behalf of our client ‘City Facilities Management’. City were established in 1985 and the company has grown to become one of the world’s largest privately held, integrated FM companies.

Job Purpose:

This is a key position, managing a team of small building works technicians, carrying out planned and reactive building maintenance across a number of retail stores. The role will involve basic joinery, changing lights, changing locks etc.

All work will be completed to the highest standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the laid-down company Health and Safety policy.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage a team of Joiners/ Carpenters throughout Central London and surrounding areas, ensuring all planned and reactive building maintenance is completed to the standards expected by the client.
  • Undertake planned and reactive maintenance building maintenance / fabric works in accordance with contractual KPI’s.
  • Carry out minor alterations and installations in accordance with current specifications.
  • Oversee and designate general repairs and maintenance to the buildings as e.g. repairs to the building fabric, such as, plumbing, joinery, changing locks, painting, PAT testing and drainage
  • To represent the company in a professional manner at all times and develop a good working relationship with company and clients colleagues

Candidates background & experience: -

  • Experience of managing a team in the building industry.
  • Willing to travel as the role is Divisional and minimum 5 years experience in the industry.
  • Suitable candidates will hold a building trade qualification (NVQ / City & Guilds), ideally in Joinery / Building / Plumbing
  • Ability to maintain / repair a range of building fabrics
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work at heights and competent in the use of steps and ladders
  • Customer focussed and helpful / friendly manner
