Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Level 3 Early Years Nursery Practitioner to join our wonderful team at a Nursery School in the heart of Marylebone, London. We are a small nursery with a maximum of 24 children daily and a fantastic reputation thanks to our wonderful team. We are looking for a nursery practitioner to start in April 2023. The role involves working across groups from 18 months - 5 years, 8:00 am - 5.00 pm, Monday - Friday. We are open 41 weeks a year and closed for 2 weeks at Christmas, 1 at Easter, 5 in the summer and the 3 half terms.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that the EYFS curriculum is implemented, through imaginative, creative and child-led initiatives.
  • Contribute to planning, evaluations and taking observations on children for the staff you are covering.
  • Taking on the role of key worker for your designated children
  • Working in partnership with parents by providing effective feedback
  • Supporting the other Heads of Room and manager as well as contributing positively to the culture and reputation of Swinbrook House Nursery School.
  • Adhering to Nursery policies and procedures which include the Safeguarding and Health and Safety of all children.

Your day-to-day duties include:

  • planning a programme of fun, challenging and stimulating activities
  • preparing the learning areas and resources, and making sure they're safe
  • observing the children and make notes of progress and issues
  • making sure all children have equal chances to learn
  • supporting parents and involving them
  • attending staff meetings
  • keeping records and writing reports
  • maintaining the environment
