- New Build Energy from Waste Loughborough, Leicestershire Competitive Salary, Bonus & Full Benefits Package Role Introduction Having partnered exclusively with Astute Technical Recruitment, Covanta have begun the phase of mobilisation on site and are recruiting a number of positions.

We are specifically looking for EC&I (Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation) Technicians in which the successful applicants will be responsible for supporting the EC&I Engineer in performing pre-planned and reactive maintenance of all EC&I assets on site.

This new build plant, in partnership with a leading waste management provider, is capable of processing up to 350,000 tonnes of residual waste per year which is enough energy (42MW) to power around 80,000 homes.

This plant will be one of the most efficient plants in Europe when operational later in 2023.

Roles & Responsibilities As the EC&I Technician, you will be responsible for: Pre-planned and reactive maintenance duties on all electrical, controls and instrumentation assets across the power station Fault finding/maintaining mostly electrical system; motors, drives, single phase & three phase equipment, switchgear, high/low voltage plant etc and instrumentation (pressure, temperature, level & flow) and control systems Calibrating instrumentation Conducting continuous improvement activities, plant modifications and design work Supervising 3rd party contractors Working in line with maintenance techniques and best practices Assisting in plant developments and projects Maintaining accurate maintenance records on the site CMMS Assist in outage planning, scheduling and coordination.

To ensure the availability of plant spares Commissioning activities Skills & Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: Ideally qualified in a recognised Electrical / C&I apprenticeship in a heavy process industry A relevant technical qualification such as an NVQ / ONC / HNC in Electrical, Control or Instrumentation engineering or a similar discipline At least 4 years of hands-on maintenance experience with motors, switchgear, instrumentation (flow, level, pressure, temperate etc) and control systems (SCADA, DCS and PLC) Practical knowledge of process plant and equipment gained in a heavy engineering environment such as power generation, petrochemical, steel works, CHP plant, paper mill etc.

Royal Navy Marine Engineers will also be considered.

Involvement in plant mobilisation and commissioning is desirable but not essential.
