Ecological Consultant / Ecologist
We are excited to be working with an award - winning company who are market leaders in their field. Delivering Environmental and Ecological Services across multiple sectors, our client is looking for an Ecological Consultant / Ecologist to work alongside a team of experienced ecological consultants who are renowned for making a social and ecological impact.
Due to company growth our client is looking to appoint 3 Ecological Consultants / Ecologists, and are able to accommodate consultants at varying levels of experience within their career.
Ecological Consultant Key responsibilities:
Undertaking phase 1: habitat surveys
Phase 2: legally protected species surveys
Ecological report writing and reviewing the junior ecologist’s work
Designing and managing ecological surveys as well as project management
Building and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels within the business, with clients, subcontractors and other third parties (regulators, statutory consultees, etc.)
What our client is ideally looking for – Beneficial but not Essential
Ecological or Environmental related Degree (Beneficial)
Must have ecological field skills.
2-4 years’ experience as an ecologist
The ability to write concise, high quality, technical reports (including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Ecological Impact Assessments) in line with CIEEM guidelines.
Ideally, experience of reviewing technical ecology reports written by others.
Experience undertaking BREEAM 2018 assessments.
Experience of using the latest Defra Biodiversity Metric.
Experience of writing fee proposals, project management and client liaison.
Membership of CIEEM
Bat and GCN Natural England protected species licence (Level 1 or above)
Full clean UK driving licence
