About UsWarrington Educational Psychology Service (EPS) is a very supportive, energetic, and forward-thinking team who have shared core values from which we practice in rich and varied ways. We are a relatively small service but one that is undergoing significant growth and development in response to an increased demand. We are looking to recruit to two main-grade positions, which would suit experienced or soon to graduate Trainee Educational Psychologists (qualifying in 2024). There is flexibility within the posts for individuals who would prefer flexible and/or part-time hours.Our team consists of experienced psychologists and newer entrants to the profession, former graduates who we helped train and who joined us to start their careers. Our service makes a valuable contribution to the high quality provision for CYP in Warrington through preventative work with schools and the community, with strong links to Speech and Language, the Child Development Centre, the Virtual School for Children in Care, Early Years providers, and other services. Our current systemic focus is Emotionally Based School Non-Attendance (EBSNA), ELSA training/supervision and Restorative Practices. This supports our LA’s priorities outlined in the Education Plan and is part of an established local accreditation initiative for schools called Committed to Inclusion.We are looking for:• Educational Psychologists committed to offering the highest quality service to Warrington’s children and young people, families, schools, services and the local authority;• An ability to apply psychology creatively in order to maximise impact and contribute to Warrington Council’s priority areas;• Committed and hardworking team players who are able to work both independently and as part of a team;• Psychologists that are good generalists in the first instance with interests and experiences across a range of areas. We encourage and support our team to develop areas of specialist interests and to work collaboratively with colleagues;• Fully qualified and HCPC registered Educational Psychologists but we also welcome applicants who are in training. We are happy to discuss a contracted trainee position for successful applicants upon the successful completion of their doctoral training when they would commence working with Warrington Borough Council.Working hoursFull time post is 37 hours per week. We are willing to consider part-time hours/ job share.
