Role: Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Project Engineer

Key Objectives
- Take ownership and responsibility for the execution of all assigned work
- Define fit for purpose engineering solutions
- Deliver a budget/estimate, schedule, multi-disciplined detailed design, detailed scope(s) of work, specifications, commissioning plans, training plans, final documentation for all assigned projects
- Support the project manager(s) with the definition of programmes and budgets
- Support the project manager(s) with monitoring and reporting of project performance and change management
- Ensure all work is executed in compliance with all company and client processes
- Support the successful execution of assigned projects safely, and in line with specification, budget and programme
- Support and promote all company and client site directives – HSEQ, best practice, innovations, continual improvement
- Development and retain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders
- Maintain up to date knowledge and competence to support the role and to align to client’s and industries’ requirements and directives
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare overall project costs and schedules
- Support project manager with development of the project programme
- Contribute to process risk assessments (PRA’s)
- Liaise with construction teams to gather information – estimates, methods of working, constructability, change
- Coordinate the design process and team(s) activities, and ensure input from stakeholders - customers, operations, constructors, subcontractors, suppliers, maintenance
- Facilitate a team of multi-discipline designers and engineers in the development of a fully detailed and approved detail design, ensuring all required aspects are considered (standards, directives, specifications and processes)
- Manage the procurement and expedition of equipment and materials, including the review and technical approval of specifications, purchase requisitions, acceptance criteria, supplier documentation and validation of performance
- Liaise with planning dept to provide accurate resource and schedule information
- Facilitate technical and project reviews and approvals
- Manage the production, issuing and control of project documentation deliverables, including final documentation packs
- Support the construction and commissioning phases of the project
- Manage the technical query process
- Define the commissioning and training (operation and maintenance) procedures
- Review critical spares requirements and manage initial stores inventory
- Take responsibility of the project(s) hand over and completion
- Collate, manage and report key indicator data – programme, cost, change, quality HSEQ engagement (audit, TBT, etc)
Qualifications and Experience Required
Degree / HND or equivalent in a Control &/or Instrumentation &/or Electrical Engineering discipline
HSEQ qualification: IOSH
Preferable Level 4 Project Control / Management Qualification
CompEx: ExF (foundation) or Ex01-04 (Gas & Vapours), Ex05-06 (Dust), or Ex12 (Application Design Engineers)
Functional Safety: IEC61508 – TUV or equivalent
BS7671:2018 IET Wiring Regulations: C&G2382-15 or equivalent
CDM regulations
Experience & Knowledge
5 years recent experienced in an equivalent role
