Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit an Electrical Engineer for an initial 12 week contract on a salary of £40,585.89-£47,231.33/annum. This role will be hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities:

- Supporting multi-disciplinary design teams in delivery of major capital projects or smaller projects in accordance with RIBA plan of work, including staff and external consultants.

- Providing specialist advice and recommendations within electrical engineering design to achieve the required outputs.

- Deliver design services as detailed within the Client Agreement across a portfolio of projects.

- Support co-ordination with other professional team members including CDM and Health and Safety and external consultants.

- Follow professional contract administration procedures.

- Supporting and advising internally on design and technical matters.

- Producing drawings, specifications for design and construction.

- Ensure project co-ordination with other professional team members including CDM and Health and Safety and external consultants.

Essential Skills:

- Good electrical design skills

- Good technical design skills.

- Experience of design of lighting, LV supply, small power distribution, earthing, lightning protection, fire and voice alarm systems, telecommunication services.

- Electrical / Building Services to include cable sizing, lighting calculations and electrical equipment sizing.

- Specification writing and liaison with utility providers.

- Ability to support a multi-disciplinary design team.

- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.

- Good drawing skills

- Knowledge of technical standards, IET Wiring Regulations and CIBSE guides.

- Knowledge of current good practice, guidance and legislation in relation to building services design.

- Commitment to delivery of high-quality service.

Desirable Skills:

- Educated to degree or other appropriate qualification in building services

- Membership of a relevant professional institute

- Competent in CAD and REVIT.
